Update: Turns out there is whole Muslim Punk subculture called Taqwacore and was concieved in the novel ‘The Taqwacores’ my Michael Muhammed Knight. “The scene is composed mainly of young Muslim artists living in the US and other western countries, many of whom openly reject traditionalist interpretations of Islam”
